Heavy-Duty Construction with Reinforced Lids
The Tatami platform uses a frameless European-standard heavy-duty box construction, with lids that open via hydraulic gas struts for easy access to stored items. Each lid is reinforced for strength, and anti-twist bracing is added to maintain stability. For large-span lids, single-span width is recommended to stay within 1200mm to ensure long-term reliability.
The cabinet body is constructed from 18mm multi-layer plywood, with all cut edges sealed using PUR adhesive and PVC or ABS edge banding for moisture protection. Hardware includes heavy-duty hydraulic gas struts, soft-close slides, and heavy-duty connectors-all selected to support the weight of the lids and the items stored beneath.
Versatile Opening Methods and Layout Options
The platform can be configured with multiple opening options to suit different usage patterns. Hydraulic lift-up lids provide easy access to the main storage area, while side drawers or hinged doors can be added for items that need more frequent access.

Only the wooden box structure is provided; mattress or Tatami cushions are not included. For long-term durability, the platform should be installed in well-ventilated indoor spaces and kept away from prolonged moisture exposure.
