Hanging Desk Cubby

A desk with an integrated bookcase-what we call a hanging desk cubby-combines a writing surface with overhead shelving and base storage into a complete workstation. It's a natural fit for home offices, study areas, or children's rooms, creating a cohesive workspace that maximizes efficiency without taking up excessive floor space. We offer both modular standard desk units and fully custom solutions, with each design planned around your room dimensions and work habits. Upper shelves hold books and stationery, the desktop offers a comfortable writing surface, and lower cabinets provide enclosed storage for documents and office supplies.

The cabinet body is built from 18mm multi-layer plywood, with a 9mm back panel and all cut edges sealed with PUR adhesive and PVC or ABS edge banding. The desktop is fitted with heavy-duty anti-sagging reinforcement, with additional support at load-bearing points. The upper book storage section includes anti-warp bracing. For unsupported desktops, single-span width should stay within 1200mm to ensure stability. Door panels are available in multi-layer solid wood, finished with PU or water-based paint at 2H hardness.

The desktop provides a comfortable writing surface, while upper shelves can be adjusted to accommodate books and files of different sizes. Lower cabinets can be configured with drawers for office supplies or shelves for larger items. Pre-drilled cable openings can be added to keep cords organized and out of sight. Standard desktop height is 740–760mm, which can be adjusted to suit your ergonomic preferences.

All doors and drawers come with soft-close hinges and drawer slides as standard. Heavy-duty adjustable shelf supports ensure reliable load capacity. The combination of durable materials and quality hardware ensures the unit performs well under daily use.

Components ship in flat-pack format with pearl cotton wrapping, corner protectors, and an outer carton. On-site assembly is required-factory installation is not included. For tall upper sections, a tip-over restraint should be installed by the customer during assembly. For sea freight with long desktops, wooden crating is recommended. Trade terms: EXW or FOB.
