Replacement Cycles for Bedding
Sheets and pillowcases: Wash every two weeks; replace entirely every 1–2 years. Shorten the replacement cycle during summer if sweating is heavy.
Duvet covers: Used less frequently; replace every 2–3 years, or sooner if there are signs of significant wear, fading, or unpleasant odors.
Pillows: Replace standard filled pillows every 6–12 months and latex pillows every 3–5 years to prevent filling clumps and dust mite accumulation that can trigger allergies.
Mattresses: Replace standard spring mattresses every 5–10 years and latex mattresses every 3–5 years. Replace promptly if sagging occurs or support diminishes to avoid compromising spinal health.
Replacement Cycles for Bedroom Furniture
Fabric sofas/upholstered beds: Deep clean annually; replace every 5–10 years. Long-term use can lead to internal dust mite proliferation and fabric wear or aging.
Panel-based bedroom furniture: Normal lifespan exceeds 10 years. Individual hardware components (hinges, etc.) can be replaced if loose or damaged without needing to replace the entire piece.
Solid wood bedroom furniture: Can last over 10 years with proper care. Repair issues like detached fasteners or severe finish cracking rather than replacing the furniture outright.
