Core Manufacturing Processes for Solid Wood Bedroom Furniture
Raw Material Pre-treatment: High-quality timber (such as mahogany or other solid woods) with straight, consistent grain is selected. Moisture content is controlled through steam treatment or natural air drying to prevent subsequent warping or cracking.
Mortise-and-Tenon Joinery: Nearly a hundred traditional techniques-such as dovetail, mitered bridle, and mitered corner joints-are employed. These allow for seamless, tight-fitting assembly without the need for metal nails, resulting in furniture that can last for centuries.
Precision Carving: Skilled artisans use tools like gouges and flat chisels for hand-carving, enhancing the artistic quality of the form by contrasting wood grain with carved details and smooth surfaces with textured areas.
Surface Finishing:Multiple coats of modern finishes are applied to create a multi-layered film that offers both decorative appeal and protection, ultimately determining the furniture's visual texture and durability.
Core Manufacturing Processes for Upholstered Beds and Mattresses
Upholstered Bed Frame Construction: Using MDF, solid wood, or steel as raw materials, the process involves cutting, sizing, sanding, and drilling; metal components require additional steps such as bending, welding, and powder coating.
Spring Mattress Assembly:Steel wire is coiled to create independent springs, which are individually encased in non-woven fabric (such as DuPont fabric) and stitched together into a spring network; the assembly is secured with a perimeter steel frame and reinforced with cotton edge-binding.
Filling Layer Integration: Filling materials-such as foam, expanded plastics, and coconut coir-are layered according to specific load-bearing requirements; these are secured with adhesive spray and stitched together with the spring network and outer fabric into a unified whole.
Upholstery Application:A foam base layer is applied to the headboard; high-quality leather (full-grain or semi-grain) or textile fabric is precision-cut and stretched over the frame, then secured to ensure a smooth, wrinkle-free surface.
